Amendments to our Constitution and Bylaws

The following Constitutional Amendments have been proposed by our Detachment Judge Advocate to amend the Sons of The American Legion Detachment of Florida’s Constitution and Bylaws to be inline with the recent changes to The American Legion Department of Florida’s recent changes to their Constitution and Bylaws. There are 27 amendments total.

These amendments will be discusses at our upcoming Fall Conference to be held November 21-23, 2025 at Caribe Royale Orlando. These amendments will remain on this website until they are voted on at our next Annual Convention to be held June 11-14, 2026  at Hilton Lake Buena Vista in Orlando, FL.

These amendments will also be distributed through email to the Detachment Executive Committee (DEC) which includes all Detachment Officers, all Area Vice Commanders, All District Commanders and all District Vice Commanders.

AREA, DISTRICT COMMANDERS and DISTRICT VICE COMMANDERS: It is your job to ensure every squadron in your charge has received these amendments.
